2003-06-20 - 11:29 a.m. Life is a ziplock baggie of cherries. At least today it is. Today is Friday, and I am trying not to let the stress of work get to me by eating an entire bag of cherries and writing this diary entry. ... Did you know that people in the kingdom of Hunza in Pakistan have lived cancer-free for years? Scientists think it's because of the large amounts of Nutrilosides found in all seeds of cherries, apricots, nectarines, peaches, and apples. The people there, I've read, consume 200 times more Nutriloside in their diet than the average Yank. The Hunza people usually eat 30-50 apricot seeds per day as an after lunch snack. I know this may not seem interesting to you, but I work for the CT Institute for Aging and Cancer. I talk to suffering people every day who often experience great improvements in their health by changing to proper dietary habits. That said, I'm also guzzling down a Diet Pepsi, loaded with the fun killer-chem, "phanalalyline." Good rule of practice-Never ingest anything you have difficulty spelling or using in a "a fox jumped over the lazy dog" kind of sentence... Speaking of Diet Pepsi...My mom thinks she's going to win the million on the yellow bottle caps with this new promotion. Now, like "the good china" and the "good bathroom soap and towels," she is exchanging old white caps to put on the new bottles so we don't lose the yellow ones that could win us 'the big mill'. I tried to put some milk in a washed out soda bottle so I could bring some Cherios for lunch at work, but realized that there was no old white caps left. Now, you can imagine who was in trouble when one of the "good yellow caps" was missing this morning. It made me want to eat on the good china, then wash up with the good soap and good towels. Brother. Have a "good" day all. May all your yellow caps be accounted for...
